Jade Donut

A message to the unauthorized owner of my jade donut -
Do you believe in Karma? I do.
Bring it back. Or mail it. Save yourself.

Patrick's chunk of Mica

Patrick commissioned a wonderful, large piece of mica. Several hours and lots of copper later, this bold statement was born. It is 3 1/4 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide, with just a touch of Toodles for the bail.
Patrick believes in Bold!
And he Does find the most beautiful rocks! Check out Aztek Treasures our first collaboration.

It's almost reversible. I love it when that happens!

Tentative schedule for the repair person is next week, Tues, but I've been around This Block often enough to not let my hopes get to high. *sigh* *sitting in the library on a Very Hard Chair, grateful for any net access at all*

Quartz Skulls and Copper

Magpie Gemstones quartz crystal skulls and lots of copper! Three cute little bracelets, each sporting a crystal skull. They are so much more beautiful than the camera will capture. My favorite is the one in the center.

Toodles Weave with Labradorite

More lovely Magpie Gemstones treasure! This Labradorite cabochon is simply scrumptious! It has so much more fire than the camera will pick up.
Just a hair over one and a half inches tall, from the top of the Toodles bale to the bottom coil of copper wire and almost one and one quarter inches wide.
Toodles Weaving at it's finest, floating on a solid copper link chain with a handmade, hammered spiral clasp!

Tree of Life with a Raku Goddess

Oooooo, I've been playing with some lovely treasures from Magpie Gemstones.
This wonderful little Raku Goddess jumped into the pile of rainbow chakra stones and tied herself to the tree with a rope of copper wire.
She's just shy of 1 inch by her lonesome, and the whole pendant is a whopping 3 inches tall, from tip of the woven Toodles bale to the the dear tangled roots.
She looks great floating from a chunk of Magpie solid copper chain, with a handmade spiral clasp, of course!

It's that time again - new classes

My, time flies when you're having fun! It's time to schedule the classes for the last quarter of this year - October thru Dec.
Is there any class YOU would like to have repeated?
Or a technique you'd like to learn?
Leave a comment or drop me a note - sherrys.jewels@gmail.com

I'm leaning toward earrings, the muse is dancing some intriguing designs in my little pea brain.
There's a cute little angel flittering around for Christmas.
And a lovely little free form bead soup bracelet, just a little bit of braiding maybe.
Hmmmmmmmm, fitting a watch face into a bangle bracelet?
Maybe a cute little adjustable ring with lots of sparkly dangles?

Whatcha think?

Guitar picks on cable

Hah! My stash of guitar picks surfaced the other day, and my dremel made an appearance right after. Then, a trip to see Szarka, and of course a wander thru Magpie Gemstones , led to snagging some interesting black cable to make chokers.
I _luv_ the skull beads! All the beads are solid copper, by the way. No yukkie plated stuff here.
Many more picks are waiting to be hung....
What do _you_ think?

My first attempt at solder and silversmithing

Whoowoooo! I spent today playing with silver, solder and torches! Oh my oh my what a day.
It has a few glitches, and I wish I'd made the bail a bit shorter, but over all, I'm quite pleased. I chose a large dichroic piece, and only scratched it once. Of course, the camera won't do justice to the dichro shimmer.

Mike, at And The Bead Goes On, is a great and patient teacher. I highly advise taking his class if you've been wanting to learn to solder. Thank you, dear Colette, for twisting my arm!

Hmmmmmmmm, what pretty little stone can I wire wrap to that gigantic expanse of bail.....
*mumble mumble... must go dig thru my stash...*

Scallops again, Szarka copper beads

ooooooooo, some yummie copper beads from Szarka, at Magpie Gemstones
Aren't they lovely in the Scallops weave?
The round beads started out gorgeous, sparkly stardust and diamond cut.
Then I dunked them in oxidizer. hmmmmmmmmmm
Rustic
I liked the sparkle best....
Oh well, must follow where the muse leads....

Possibles bags

A Possibles Bag to hold your treasures. Ditch the cash box, these are so much more useful and secure when doing shows! Tied around your waist or thrown over a shoulder, they are so much more attractive than a fanny pack.

Montebello Italia leather, butter soft and oh so fragrant!

Hand made from start to finish, from cutting the strips and pieces of leather to braiding. Three pockets to stash all your show dollars. 7 x 8 inches for the pockets.

The dark chocolate bag on the left is for Dani, the cute little sterling donkey a totem of her miniature friend at home.

The lovely bag on the right is for Esther. I can't find a good dragon for her totem namesake, so she gets a Dancingfeather signature feather.

Enjoy, my friends!

Toodles tut is online! Thank you my friends!

I am in awe at the direction life has taken and the wonderfulness of friends. Such a short time ago, I was a moderately happy hermit, minding my own biz and twisting some wire.

Wire weaving with Princess Leia took over my wire, a tutorial was born and published. My wire work changed.

My sweetie had severe and ongoing health issues and "Live one day at a time for all it's worth" became so much more important.

A wonderful lady moved not far away, we've become dear friends, her socialite proclivities drew me into a circle of many more dear kindred spirits. I thank you all for drawing me out of hermitdom, though it is a slow process still...

Then, a local store owner came along, saw my work, I became a teacher in her store. I've had the honor and pleasure of passing my bits of knowledge to many wonderful ladies.

Now I carry a calendar, track dates and times and I'm loving it! Mostly.... ugg, schedules! *grin*
++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Thank you, my dear friends, for changing the direction of my life! There are more good things in the near future, I'm sure...
