Rising to the challenge - SBS braided bracelet
This bracelet is my version of Frances Harper's *Braided Silver Bracelet* as published in the Winter 2010 issue of Step By Step Wire Jewelry.
Esther was Right - a wicked bear to start! OMG, I, too, had to give up and Start Over!
My weaving is not even, the beginning is much more open than the remaining 2/3rds, but overall, I'm content. Will I make another? hmmmm, not tonight! *grin*
Of course I had to wing it - no knitting needles and no yogart container and no table to put the yogart container on, if I'd had one...
So, out came a length of 12g wire and a little spring clamp. Much easier to keep the beginning wires in line with the little clamp!!! The small clamp also allowed me to work in my usual *up in the air, close to the face so I can See* position. hehehehe
It was fun (eventually)! Thanks Frances and SBS! I learned a thing or two on the journey, and That's what it's All About!
Oh, I changed a couple parts.... Spiraled all the stray ends, used one of the braid wires for the hook, another to wind around the whole thing to keep it tight, and left off the focal bead....
Works for me.
Versions of my cuffs
Not doing this double wire side version any more. This is 14g copper wire sides, 18g bindings , 8mm tiger eye cubes and magnetic hematite.
The cuff on the left is 12g copper surrounding magnetic hematite and tiger eye. The garnet jelly roll is either 12 or 14g, don't remember....

Playing with copper sheet and a friend
Tonya's lovely sheet earrings. She can add or remove the large back piece, depending on her mood and the day's activity. Most excellent results for her very first time ever playing with sheet copper!
Mine look like christmas trees, so appropriate for the time of year.

OMGoodness!
Oooo, purty! While taking photos for some tuts I'm attempting, I threw the love knot bracelet in front of the camera and messed with zoom. Y'all might not think this photo is anything special, but it impresses me all to pieces. 'Specially compared to the non-zoom shots taken at the same time. Geez, gotta mess with zoom some more!
The knots are different gauges of wire, to demonstrate how each one looks. The turquoise disk and copper spacers and bead caps are from Magpiegemstones, of course.

SABOS Spring Bead Bazaar - The Classes
Here is the line up of classes -
11 am - 1 pm
The Winter Tree of Life
Complete a Winter Tree in our first 2 hour class, then you can make trees for all the colors of your wardrobe. Learn to bend and forge wire, twist and shape the tree, tips on various bails and finishes, including oxidation secrets.
Join the afternoon Toodles Ring class to learn how I weave the bail on my trees, for a more elaborate and impressive pendant.
-------------------------------------
2 pm - 4 pm
Flutterbye Bracelet with Earring Possibilities
The Spirals remind me of butterflies, the wiggly links look like serpents. Learn to form and forge the wire, cage beads and use the straight up noose to make links or earrings. Learn to make your own clasps, ear wires, jump rings and dangles. More hammering, oh delightful joy!
-------------------------------------
Sunday -
11 am - 1 pm
The Toodles Weave Ring
I wrote the tutorial using this weave to form a bezel around a stone, published in Step by Step Wire Magazine. Popular demand resulted in classes for this adjustable ring. See the amazing results on my student blog.
-------------------------------------
2 pm - 4 pm
The Cross Pendant
Celebrate your faith! Class will complete a pendant size cross, learning the art of shaping wire, forging with a hammer and weaving beads on a frame. The design makes a beautiful wall hanging, too.
We'll work in copper during the classes, because it's beautiful, and it feels like sterling, but allows the freedom to explore and create without budgetary inhibitions. You are welcome to bring your own wire, if you would prefer something different.
Copper feels like dead soft sterling, so your new skills will translate straight over to your silver projects.
Check out my student blog to see the quality of my teaching skills. *grin*
The 2009 Spring Bead Bazaar will be Saturday, May 2nd & Sunday May 3rd at the Live Oak Civic Center (map).

Event details may change as we are still in the early planning stages. Please check back often for updates.
Live Oak is a little town just north of San Antonio, for those of you who are not quite local. The event will be about two minutes off IH 35. See the map.
