SABOS Spring Bead Bazaar - The Classes

I'll be teaching four classes, two hours each, at the SABOS Spring Bead Show, May 2 and 3, in Live Oak, near San Antonio.

Here is the line up of classes -

Saturday -

11 am - 1 pm

The Winter Tree of Life
Complete a Winter Tree in our first 2 hour class, then you can make trees for all the colors of your wardrobe. Learn to bend and forge wire, twist and shape the tree, tips on various bails and finishes, including oxidation secrets.
Join the afternoon Toodles Ring class to learn how I weave the bail on my trees, for a more elaborate and impressive pendant.
-------------------------------------

2 pm - 4 pm
Flutterbye Bracelet with Earring Possibilities
The Spirals remind me of butterflies, the wiggly links look like serpents. Learn to form and forge the wire, cage beads and use the straight up noose to make links or earrings. Learn to make your own clasps, ear wires, jump rings and dangles. More hammering, oh delightful joy!

-------------------------------------

Sunday -

11 am - 1 pm

The Toodles Weave Ring
I wrote the tutorial using this weave to form a bezel around a stone, published in Step by Step Wire Magazine. Popular demand resulted in classes for this adjustable ring. See the amazing results on my student blog.

-------------------------------------

2 pm - 4 pm
The Cross Pendant
Celebrate your faith! Class will complete a pendant size cross, learning the art of shaping wire, forging with a hammer and weaving beads on a frame. The design makes a beautiful wall hanging, too.

Special introductory prices for classes at the SABOS show -

$25 will include 2 hours of instruction and helpful tips, (come pick my brain), and all the required materials and supplies needed for each project. I will have tools for your use, or bring your own, since your hands are already familiar with them.
Paypal to sherrys.jewels@gmail.com or mail a check to Sue to reserve your seat.

We'll work in copper during the classes, because it's beautiful, and it feels like sterling, but allows the freedom to explore and create without budgetary inhibitions. You are welcome to bring your own wire, if you would prefer something different.

Copper feels like dead soft sterling, so your new skills will translate straight over to your silver projects.

Check out my student blog to see the quality of my teaching skills. *grin*

I can't wait to share my passion with YOU!
