Toodles Weave with Labradorite
More lovely Magpie Gemstones treasure! This Labradorite cabochon is simply scrumptious! It has so much more fire than the camera will pick up.Just a hair over one and a half inches tall, from the top of the Toodles bale to the bottom coil of copper wire and almost one and one quarter inches wide.
Toodles Weaving at it's finest, floating on a solid copper link chain with a handmade, hammered spiral clasp!

Learn to make the basic cuff bracelet. Suitable for cubes, rounds, large or small beads, or no beads at all. In class we will be using cube beads and heavy wire. Tips, hints and many samples of other possibilities.

Learn to make a 16g sterling S-link chain, with the focal center a version of the Twin Spiral, which reminds me of a butterfly, popularized by Sharilyn Miller who learned at the feet of Lynn Merchant, wire goddess.
In class, we'll make various dangly wire charms to decorate your new creation. If you want to do this bracelet in sterling, be sure to specify when you sign up. Otherwise we'll have copper cut and ready for you.

Metaphor, mystical, symbolic - found in every ancient culture in one form or another. The roots reaching into the earth, into the underworld, the branches reaching high above, into the heavens. Design your own special tree. Use tiny stone bits for a leafy tree, or fill the branches with your family birthstones.

Black River - Black Onyx Toodles
Glossy black onyx with a shimmery white river flowing across the side, wrapped in miles of copper wire, oxidized to black velvet in all the depths. Luscious!No solder, no glue, just wire and pliers and blessings from the muse.
The 30x40mm cab makes the finished piece nearly 2-1/2 x 1-3/4 inches. Large hook bail will fit any size chain or ribbon.

Lovely Tiger Eye, perfectly round, all swirls and spirals, oxidized to bring out all the detailed depths.
A lovely fossilized coral cabochon, 30x40mm, wrapped up in a tight Toodles Weave. Beautiful copper, deeply oxidized for easy care and gorgeous detail.No solder, no glue, just skill and patience with wire and pliers.

Viking Knit in Sterling Silver
While visiting my sister in Nashville for her wedding, I managed to finish 3 viking knit necklaces with 28 gauge sterling silver. Lovely, much needed rain kept us away from the tourist haunts, so hand me the wire and I'm happy.The inner necklace is 15" long, made with 5 loops, which is a bit more open than I like. A grand experiment, and always a learning experience. It makes a lovely double wrapped bracelet on my 6 1/2" wrist, but I must resist keeping it, must'n I? hhhhmmmm...
The others are 17 1/2" and 19 1/2" with 7 loops, which gives a more substantial feeling.
Each currently has 4 jumprings, for slight adjustment to length. I can add a bit of chain as an extender, if they need to be a bit longer.
Each necklace is 1/8" wide which is 3.18mm.
All are quite supple and feel wonderful on the skin.
$10 per inch

Turquoise curlies - Toodles series - Sold
One more vintage turquoise cab, lovingly captured in copper wire. Copper is such a natural mate for turquoise given that they come from the same bit of earth.
The turquoise piece is 30x40mm, the entire piece is 1 5/8" wide and 2 1/4" tall. Carefully oxidized to control the tarnish. A simple wipe with any soft cloth will make it shine in moments.
The bail is, again, a large hook, making it a simple matter to switch between heavy chain or a leather cord necklace, short today and long tomorrow. Ahhhh, versatility!Sold

Labradorite Chunkie - Toodles series
Aztec T reminded me that I have a stash of gorgeous Labradorite chunks. They are polished on one side and rough all around. The challenge - cover as little stone as possible, but protect all the rough edges... This one worked. *happy dance*
Much more gorgeous schiller than my camera would capture. With miles of copper wire, it stands 2 3/4" tall and 1 3/4" wide. Another Statement piece. Not for the shy and timid.
Next step, the oxidizing. Couldn't wait to share. *grin*

Playing with ox and cords - Toodles series
Playing with oxidizing and cord for this smallish piece. I definitely like the darkened copper best. I found some 2mm round leather cord that will balance well with the heavier pendants. So, that led to making a coiled tube of twisted copper for the center. Needs darkening, too, if I use it with this pendant, haven't decided yet....
Yuck, rulers in the photo look so tacky, but I needed to be able to show a perspective owner it's size.
Opinions? With the coil or without?

Yup! Happy Birthday, hunnybear! Each twist full of love (with a few grumbles thrown in for good measure and balance, don'cha know!)
I went with coil on leather and am quite happy, myownhumbleself. *grin* Now, for the other woven heavy pendants, I'm working on a simplified version of a viking knit, in the non-tarnish copper, with an oxidized coil to tie the pieces together.... Got one done, now to take photos with my new camera. (Fell into an HP 6MP and oh boyoh buddy is it sweet! Thanks, Denise!!!!!)
